New Features

We're working hard to bring new features to modelyachting.org every day. To keep you updated with the features we're adding we'll keep the list below updated.

29th December

• Several bug fixes - yacht image uploads weren't resizing correctly
• New about page so you can find out about the site

18th December

• We've done so many updates recently but forgot to update this page!!
• User registration is now open for everyone
• You can tell us about the yachts you sail
• We've now started a Yacht Design Database from the above data

22nd October

• BUG: When submitting new links an error was thrown
• Still working hard on new features - there's a lot to be considered when you let people sign up on your site

5th September

• Sites can now be marked as a user favourite - this functionality is not public yet
• Users favourite sites show as the first category on the homepage.
• Ability to save a site as favourite is only visible for signed in users

2nd September

• Reworking layout for Project Affinity compatability.

21st August

• Sites don't have to be assigned to a country - some sites are global so shouldn't be attached to a specific country

8th August

• No updates for a while now but we are busy beavering away on a great new feature to be deployed soon!
• New free text search added on homepage

16th June

• Site order on homepage changed to display newest sites in category first (was alphabetical)
• Results page now shows site age (new/updated in last 5 days)
• Fixing styling of alerts and notices

15th June

• Flags now link through to country results

11th June

• Site Results page, UI exposing categories and country searches

8th June 2011

• Added ability to limit to specific countries at moment just via query string, eg appending ?country=GB to address bar
• URL params can be chained, eg ?country=gb&category=clubs&sort=newest - this will be exposed in the UI soon
• Uservoice added for submitting new ideas

4th June 2011

• Renamed links as sites
• Reworking site URLs to include /sites path

3rd June 2011

• Displaying country flag next to each link
• Featured Link added

31st May 2011

• Added the ability to submit new links

• Adding a Popular Links page
• Added Random Link link to footer
• Link pages changed to be more RESTful and not use query parameters
• Links now open in new window

27th May 2011

• Links now have short urls and redirect to the actual link

25th May 2011

• Twitter link added and links will be autotweeted when they are published
• New and Updated link pages now limited to links added/updated in last 5 days
• Footer links added for new and updated
